NICOLE SHOGREN – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Nicole Shogren is passionate about music and providing musical opportunities to students. In 2023, she joined the staff of OYO, first as Administrative Assistant and Music Librarian, and now as Executive Director, bringing together a lifetime of experiences in performing and educating young musicians.

Nicole graduated from the University of Michigan with Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Cello Performance.  She is a freelance musician and cello teacher and has a background in computer programming and project management. As a cello teacher, she supports students in their musical journeys, and has always endorsed participation in youth symphonies for additional enriching experiences.  Currently she performs with several area orchestras including the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, Oakland Symphony Orchestra, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, and Warren Symphony Orchestra, is the orchestra librarian of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, and is an active performer at a variety of special events.
