Oakland Youth Orchestras, (OYO), presents its Fall Concert on November 3rd, at 6:30pm at the Oxford Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature Aiden Yang & Brian Zhang–two young artists that won OYO’s 2022 concerto solo competitions.

Yang will perform Concerto No.3 G Minor Op.12 1st Movement by Friedrich Seitz and Zhang will perform Variationen by Tartini Kreisler.
Yang is a 10-year-old fourth grader at University Hills Elementary School in Rochester Hills. He began playing the violin in first grade when he received the instrument as a birthday gift from a grandparent.
For the past three years, Yang has studied under the tutelage of Haewon Oh. He played in OYO’s Studio String Orchestra for two years and joined the String Orchestra this year.
In addition to the violin, Yang enjoys playing the piano and reading books. He also likes shooting at an archery range and playing chess with his dad
Zhang, is a 7th grader at Boulan Park Middle School in Troy Michigan. He began playing violin at the age of 6. He joined OYO when he was 9. He played in OYO’s Studio String Orchestra for one year, String Orchestra for two years, and is now in the Philharmonia Orchestra
Violin and OYO are an integral part of Zhang’s life. His current violin teacher is Mrs. Wieling Cheang. He also plays tennis and enjoys time with his friends.
Works from modern composers and great masters will also be performed by the OYO Orchestras. The selection includes: Vanishing Shadows, Meyer, Poet and Peasant, Suppe, Romeo and Juliet Suite, Prokofiev, Symphony No. 2, Tchaikovsky, and Die Meistersinger, Wagner.
Oakland Youth Orchestras Winter Concert is November, 3, 2020 at 6:30pm. The concert will be held at the Oxford Performing Arts Center located at 745 N. Oxford Road, Oxford, MI, 48371.
Tickets will be available at the door: Adults–$10, children and students–$5.
