In addition to participating in weekly orchestra rehearsals and performing in three concerts in November, February, and May, Oakland Youth Orchestras provides additional learning opportunities through Chamber Ensembles, Outreach Concerts, and opportunities to earn cash awards through a Solo/Concerto Competition and Merit Scholarship program.

Additional Opportunities
In Chamber Ensemble, students play in small groups, one player to a part. All Strings, Brass and Woodwind students from Studio String, String, Philharmonia and Symphony Orchestras are welcome to participate.
